Utterances at the Altar

Utterances at the Altar is an experimental short that explores memory, family, and connection. Using public and personal archives, microscope footage of root growth, and audio from an interview with a family elder, the film serves as a representation of the spiritual experience of altar work as a member of the African diaspora. In the film, I speak to my ancestors, cultivating and transforming our relationship.
