The Spring 2023 CCAM Ultra Space Symposium takes up earthly reference frames for understanding the body in space. Inspired by the work of Arakawa and Gins, we consider the body as a part of its architectural surroundings. takes up earthly reference frames for understanding the body in space. As part of the symposium, join us for a live performance “Composition in Frozen Time” by Konrad Kaczmarek (Associate Professor Adjunct of Music, Yale University). The new composition is inspired by this quote from György Ligeti: “I favor musical forms that are less process-like and more object-like. Music as frozen time, as an object is an imaginary space that is evoked in our imagination through music itself.”
