Roleplay Screening with Director and Producer In Person

The Yale Student Film Festival is proud to present a screening of SXSW 2024 Official Documentary Selection: Roleplay with Director Katie Matthews and Producer Jenny Mercein in person! 

Roleplay is a feature documentary that follows a group of college students as they confront sexual violence on their campus through a transformative theater process.  This urgent coming of age story follows young adults grappling with sex, consent, identity, and power on their paths to adulthood.

Jenny Mercein (Producer) is an actor, teacher, director, and writer currently living in New Orleans, where she is an Assistant Professor at Tulane University. She is a producer of Roleplay, a play and documentary film project exploring student perspectives on love, sex, power, and consent. 

Katie Matthews (Director) is an award-winning film director and producer. Her films take you on intimate, nuanced journeys through life’s transitions, with a decade of documentary and narrative skills in the driver’s seat.
