They have screened theatrically in Singapore and at the Berlinale, Hot Docs, Busan, Visions du Réel and at the Flaherty Seminar. She has had retrospectives at RIDM and Dok Leipzig. Tan has won awards from Cinéma du Réel, Dubai International Film Festival and Taiwan International Documentary Festival. She has mentored at DMZ, Busan and Asiadoc.
