Nostalgia (2022) | 16th Annual Festival of New Italian Cinema

Felice returns to his hometown of Naples and grows increasingly enthralled by the city. His odyssey blends the foreign and the familiar, social realism and the gangster film. We follow him as he crosses the labyrinthine streets and baroque churches of Rivne Sanita and becomes involved in a war between a local boss and an activist priest. At the same time, he is gripped by the tinted memories of his youth and must overcome the past’s deadly hold if he is to embrace the present.
Each April, the Film and Media Studies Program in conjunction with the Italian Department stages a four-day festival of recent Italian films. With introductions and post-screening discussions, you won’t want to miss this special showcase!
