NH DOCS: Destiny & Joy

A pay-what-you-can screening at the New Haven Free Public Library…Destiny is a poignant profile of a young woman finding her independent voice in the wake of her mother’s tragic passing and her father’s need for daily assistance. Sahar is a wonderful protagonist; she exudes grace and emotional intelligence–especially given the complex situation she finds herself in as she studies for university. The film does a great job of portraying the competing interests for young women living this experience, trying to balance the wishes of their family and their faith with their desire for a career.
