Following his shortcomings as a camorra foot-soldier, Carmine (Salvatore Esposito) moves to Rome to manage a restaurant on behalf of a Neapolitan crime syndicate, exchanging half-cooked frozen foods for clean cash. The result is an unlikely alliance between the shamed camorrista and a failed chef in pursuit of a Michelin Star. Davide Minnella’s light-hearted film delivers a comedic three-course meal of new Italian cinema’s most recognizable tropes: mafia, food, and romance.
