Lee’s sumptuous wuxia epic broke records at the Oscars and the box office, taking audiences to a near-mythic China where bandits and warriors seek a fabled stolen sword. Michelle Yeoh, Chow Yun-fat, Zhang Ziyi, and Chang Chen star in what’s been called “soaring and romantic, wild and serene, feminist and gutsy” (Lisa Schwarzbaum). In Mandarin with English subtitles.
